Rob Rees MBE confirmed for our Food and Drink Festival

The Fabulous Cotswold Chef - Rob Rees has confirmed he will be attending the Sunday Market as part of this year's Tetbury Food and Drink Festival.

A man of many talents and a dedicated fund raiser for local charities including his very own Wiggly Worm  charity that exists to improve health, well-being and self-esteem amongst the vulnerable, disadvantaged or seldom heard (www.thewigglyworm.org.uk).

He has supported our festival from the very beginning and we are delighted he is able to join us on the 22nd September

Tetbury Food & Drink Festival 2013

Loved by local people and visitors from afar the Tetbury Food and Drink Festival brings together local food and drink produces, retailers and professionals to celebrate the very best food and drink that the Cotswold's has to offer.

During the Festival, visitors and locals have the chance to enjoy experiences that money alone cannot buy. Highlights include:

How about a vegetarian evening at Café 53, join The Gloucestershire Old Spot Appreciation Dinner at The Close Hotel, take a tour of a local vineyard and other wine tasting events, see The Tetbury Taters Competition judged in style with live music  at The Priory Inn;  enjoy cookery lessons at The Rectory Hotel in Crudwell; visit the Duchy Home Farm or Aunt Addies Farm Project.
The Wild Garlic Restaurant in Nailsworth are joining forces with  cheese producer Woefuldane;  The Royal Oak at Leighterton , Calcot Manor, The Potting Shed, The Snooty Fox and The Ormonds  plus others, will all be putting on special menus and foodie happenings and as we go to print we are awaiting news from Highgrove.

A dedicated Children’s area at The Festival Market: shows, face painting, crafts and competitions;  ensures  younger  members  are  entertained, whilst their parents enjoy the wide ranging number of stalls and cookery demonstrations.

Well our Festival is over for another year - the weather proved a little challenging for our Sunday Market but we still managed a very good turn out with tasty and diverse selection of stalls and people were determined to come along and have a good time.

One particular highlight was the magnificient shire horses from Duchy Home Farm - one of their last visits for the foreseeable future - they have been a beautiful sight in town and we will all miss them greatly.

Local Author Margo Smith & Yellow Lighted Bookshop & Chef and Columnist Xanthe Clay

Local author - Margo Smith - is joining forces with the fabulous Yellow Lighted Bookshop at our Market on Sunday 23rd September with a limited supply of her extremely popular cookery book  "Food Family and Faraway Places" - a personal collection of recipes written or adapted from many sources over 60 years.

Also available through The Yellow Lighted Bookshop will be a diverse selection of cookery books along with the latest book by Celebrated Chef, Author and Telegraph Columnist - Xanthe Clay - "The Contented Chef"

Xanthe will be visiting the Market on Sunday to sign copies of her book as well as demonstrating her culinary skills.
